Lame title is llllaaaaaaaaaame.
Anyway, my last installment in my art nouveau series. Initially, I was going to use either Relana or Teriannach to complete it, but Katarina came out. Instead of going for my own twist of an art nouveau piece, I stayed closer to the initial style--hence why my shading isn't nearly as extreme as it usually is. As well as this, I traditionally inked Katarina--something I haven't done in probably more than a year. I used two textures to give it a worn, old feeling. All in all, this was more experimentation! The textures are not mine; they can be found here and here. -- Piece One: Moonlit Night Piece Two: Evening Piece Three: Displayed here Comments

Texture: I love the textures here, and how you combined traditional and digital media. I love the architectural feel the central image has, and her being done by hand only adds to that kind of rustic feel. The shapes framing the image are slightly off, but perfect symmetry isn’t required to make this piece good.
Color/Shading: The colors are used very well here, the cool shades of her hair and outer scale tone, complements very well with her warmer under scales an fin tones. The curls are rendered enough to show definition, but not exhaustively overdone- which is always a good thing. The shading is softly done, which accentuates her curves and her fins- as well as the coral forest in the lower register.
Design/ Composition: Once again you made good use of the art nouveau style, which blends very well with your normal style. The composition works very well here, the balancing of the spheres in the oval encircling her makes for good eye flow. At the same time, that she overlays the ornamentation and is not trapped by it, makes for a clean-cut design. The character is dynamically posed, and in great proportion which is a cornerstone to this image’s brilliant composition.
It's classical, well balanced and has an excellent color scheme, awesome job Epi.
First off: you used the textures wonderfully! Then the combination of traditional coloring and digital coloring. Besides of that the art nouveau style really shines in this image, thus giving it allot more depth and class.
The lighter shading than usual really compliments the whole of the image, since it ádds, but doesn't scream for attention.
There is only one minor setback, and that is that the big 'figures' which hold all the drawned pieces arn't quite symnetrical, but I can totally ignore that small detail, all and all this piece deserved what it had coming to it, so there.
I hope my crits were some help to you!
Ow yeah faving this image two!
